i dont know why but theres no sound coming out or my computer and at the bottom right there is no audio control icon..

Have you checked your settings via start > Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices

it worked yesturday, and when i go to start, programs, accesories, entertainment, volume controll it says there are no active mixer devices available

i have no sound coming out, when i click on volume controll it says there are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices go to controll panel, click printers and other hardware, then click add hardware.... its 2 46 am here and i am very bored without no sound. can someone help?

Did the sound just stop working, was it OK recently?

Has any new hardware or (sound related) software recently been installed?

Does Device Manager have any yellow ! marks regarding the sound device?

Are the appropriate drivers loaded for the sound device?

Is the sound device onboard chipset or an add-in PCI card?

What is the make and model of your computer?

You need to get the drivers from the manufacturer's web site.

How do i check that?

Is it for example a Dell Dimension 2400 or an HP Pavilion 7995 or ??? or was it custom built?
