I'm stuck. My son has a Dell Dimension 3000 and he's managed somehow to lose his windows XP home user taskbar. I've tried moving the cursor all round the screen in a hope that he just managed to Auto Hide it but that doesn't seem to be the case. It looks like he has genuinely lost it.

Is there any way to get it back without having to do a full system restore?

You can download and save this registry repair from Kelly's Korner http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs.../nodesktop.reg
Once saved, double click and choose run. It will repair the registry for the taskbar and should reappear straight away. If it doesnt, try rebooting after the repair.
