Ok now my computer has been doing this for the past year and its so annoying,I get a pop up like this every second and evrtime i get so annoyed cause i have to clikc that damn OK button,now as i said this happens every second.All of them look the same but have a diff. text but all of them always say Messenger service on the top and then on the bottom it always wants me to download a certain program because it says if i dont download this certain program my computer is gonna have a system failure,but i dont trust the pop up because my computer is very good is goes at high speeds with no worries.So is there a way i can iliminate these pop ups?

You should update to SP2 which would default stop this service.

Go to Services under Administrative Tools and turn Off Messenger Service and Disable it altogether.

This is also a sign that you do not have a firewall. Again SP2 would give you a firewall.

sorry may I ask what is SP2?

Service Pack 2 was the latest upgrade to XP. It is currently the only supported version of XP.

Download from Windows Update.

There have also been about 56 Critical updates on top of SP2 which should be loaded as well from Windows Update.

The Messenger Service which became a Spam outlet was disabled in SP2 but you can do it manually as well as I pointed out.

However it is very important to be running SP2 as well.

The installed size of SP2 is about 600MB or about 2/3 rds of a GB.
