Error message at log-in after start up

    Hi there,

I'm a newbie to the group. I wonder if anyone can assist in advising me how to rectify the problem causing the following error message which appears when I log in after start up:-

SmartBridge Alerts: MotiveSB.exe - Entry Point Not Found
    ---------------------------
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL.

This has only occurred recently - it may be entirely coincidental but it came around the same time as I upgraded to IE7

    Many Thanks

The Alert is being triggered by your ISP software and apparently IE7 triggers it somehow. The software is purely of a diagnostic and unnecessary nature. Therefore the solution is just to stop it from starting.

Some recommend using start Run... msconfig | Startup

Uncheck MotiveSB or any program associated with your ISP.

    Another suggestion is this:

Click the "Start" button, choose "Search" then click "All files and folders"
    option.

In the "All or part of the file name" search box type "SmartBridge" and look
for a folder to come up with the name "SmartBridge".

Click on the folder and locate the file called "psapi.dll". Right-click on
the file and rename it as "psapiold.dll" or "psapi_old.dll" or something
    similar.

Close all open windows and applications and reboot your computer.

The message should now be disabled from reappearing.

    Thanks for that jephree,

I have checked on my ISP's site (ntlworld) regarding IE7 and found the following:-

    Broadband Medic:

We are currently working on some issues on Broadband Medic with our vendor. We expect to get these resolved over the coming weeks.

I await with interest! A friend, also with ntl is experiencing the same "problem".

    Thanks again.
