Hi, can someone help me with sorting out my screen? Basically i have brought two new games, Polar Express and Sims 2 for my kids, installing them is fine, but when they go to play the screen images are very dark, a sort of dark greeny black colour. I have changed the graphics card to Nvidia GeForce FX5500, and also installed the new driver, but no change? Sue

Did you uninstall all previous graphics drivers and programs? Nvidia as well as any other previous brands you may have used e.g. ATI etc.

Driver Installation Hints


"Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers.


Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.


Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.
