hi all i run windows xp home sp2 on a self build computer which runs fine most of the time , but randomly crashes, i do not know why i have unticked automatic restart to try and get a blue screen with an error number but it still auto restarts, there is no errors in event viewer after crash any ideas what could cause this to happen any advice welcome
are all the cards seated properly?
have removed all cards cleaned contacts and reseated i will see if that makes any difference thanks for your advice

In order to get more details please do the following:
Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.
Remember this location and the path that leads to it.
Then:
1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
All you need do is download and install this. Make no attempt to start or run it.
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
This is a DOS based batch file that will command the above Microsoft Tools.
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

search did not find any .dmp files
I used to get crashes all the time a blue screen came up with the error messeges i downloaded speedupmypc then my pc worked like new. dont know if this helps but its worth a try.Originally Posted by mobileman1953
