Moving a game to another drive.

Moving a game to another drive.
Hi everyone.
In my PC I have two Hard disk drives.
On the C: drive I have a on going game loaded. That drive has 25%free space.
The D: drive has loads of free space.
What I would like to do is, put the game onto the D: drive and run/play it from there.
How do I go about doing this?
Do I highlight the folder in the C: drive and copy it, then paste it in the D: drive or what?
I would appreciate any advice, as I am attempting to make some space on the D drive to try and help speed it up a bit.
Thanks in advance.
ATB Gary.

the best way would probably be to un-install it and then re-install it to the D drive because as far as i am aware, some files are created in the windows directorywhich "point" to the files in your C drive and will not be able to find those files if they are on the D drive

Bugger! Cheers Mike. Its just that I am part way through the game, and if I un-install and then re-install, I will have to start all over again. It's taken me the best part of a year to get this far.
Again, Cheers Mike

there may be a way of backing up your saved files.... try looking for a folder called "saved files" (or similar) it could be in c:/program files.... or c:/documents and settings/all users/application data/[your game]....
its up to you if you find these files, wether or not you want to risk it!!!
if it was me, i would probably move other things over to the D drive (music, games that you have not long started....)

Thanks Mike, but I have already done the deed. Game deleted.
Regarding photos etc, I have already done that. Thanks.
I have also got some programs running from the D: drive which I previously transferred. The problem is I can't remember how I did it. Is it possible to transfer Microsoft office, and all its contents from C: to D:? If so, could you be kind enough to instruct me on the procedure. Bearing in mind that I am a single syllable type of guy.
Thank you again for your response.

hi, im sorry, i think microsoft office will be the same as your game (with the files in the windows folder) if there is a way of doing this, i am not aware of it.
