Arrow Trying to remove 2 AOL files

I need to get rid of AOLAcsd.exe and aoltsmon.exe. I don't need, don't use and they are using way too much of my resources. I have tried 2 or 3 times to have HiJack This fix it - but it can't! How else can I delete them? (AOL is something else, aren't they? Someone should have warned us about how evil, under-handed, and greedy are!)

Try starting your computer in Safe Mode and see if you can delete the files.

But how? I went into safe mode and the 'HiJack This' option is not there, nothing is there except the browsers and the recycle bin and ?

So, I searched 'AOL' and got a lot of results. (Let me mention I thought I successfully had uninstalled AOL - fooled me!)

Then it dawned on me that, although I don't use AOL's services anymore (I'm on their 'free plan') - I DO use my email address because it goes directly to IncrediMail - I never actually access AOL.

Nevertheless, I figured I better 'grin and bear it' - maybe I DO need those 2 files (which I 'googled') that have to do with the connectivity service.

    Your thoughts?
