whenever i try to open a folder, my screen flashes and then everything disappears including the taskbar. after a little bit it all comes back though. and when i open internet explorer it opens then closes really quick. i can only go on firefox. i scanned my computer with spyware doctor and registry mechanic and i deleted everything but the problem is still there. can anyone help?

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
