recovery of windows XP on hp laptop
My XP home edition on hp laptop crashed. I installed windows professional XP on it but it is not behaving properly and I am not able to see TV on my lptop which has TV tuner card. If i take HP recovery disk of other laptop with same make and model, then will I be able to recover my old XP data and will I be able to view TV.? Will all my previous software can restore factory settings?

As to your TV card you might just need to reinstall the drivers.
As to re-doing an HP install it is doubtful but of course you can try.
In most cases HP puts data on the hard drive that their Recovery requires. Installing a Microsoft XP Pro would most likely have erased this data.
You can always try but I think you will end up having to reinstall Pro.

we also tried reinstalling drivers for TV tuner card but it is not scanning for channels.
if we contact hp technical support will it be able to restore hp home edition with tv tuner card as before?

HP has a good on-line site:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
What is the exact model of laptop?
The various Recovery Options should be listed on the site.
