Problem description:
No matter who's house I am at, what router I use, or whether Windows is freshly installed, I CANNOT SEE OTHER PEOPLES SHARED FILES.
We are all under the same work group, I can see them under My Network Places> View Network Computers but when I attempt to open their computer to see their shared files, I (occasionally others) receive the following error:
"\\(Computer Name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have the access permissions.
The network path was not found."
I am on an administrative account, they have shared the folders so that I can view them, even when firewalls are closed they cannot be viewed.
I spent many hours searching for a resolution (Microsoft was about as useful as always... [not at all]) on many sites, all saying the same things none of which have worked. I would list them out here but they are far too many and varied to. Any ideas will be appreciated... if you need more info or are wondering if I have tried a specific thing just ask.
Many thanks~
