Hello, I recently purchased a new laptop and like always I like to delete all the unnecessary demo programs and misalanious software. I went to delete McAfee Security Suit and all seemed well. Then I went to install Trend Micro Virus Scan and an error came up saying McAfee SpyKiller and McAfee Online are still running on your computer. I went to Add/Remove and nothing was listed. I went to MSCONFIG and nothing was listed in any of the start ups. I then went to Search and enabled searching hidden files and nothing was listed. I spent about 2 hours trying to find these files that seem to not exist. I even downloaded Ashampoo Software Removal and that found no trace of any McAfee.

If anyone has any advice on how to get to the bottom of this, please reply. Thanks!

Have you check Services for anything relevant?

start Run... services.msc

I just went there now and they all show up. You can not delete them it says but I disabled them all so do you think that will do the trick?

Try rebooting and see if they startup by going back and trying your scans.
