What is the make and model of the computer?

What type of Recovery or XP disks do you have?

First time hearing of Mesh but they have a nice site:

    http://www.meshcomputers.com/technical/front.asp

If you cannot boot into any option of Safe Mode running a Repair Install from the CD is probably necessary. This should retain your data and settings although you will have to reinstall all Windows Updates including Service Pack 2 if it is not already on the CD.

    Mesh's page:

Short of this there are some options you can try from the Recovery Console if for any reason you are hesitant to reinstall XP.

Would Recovery Console and running FIXBOOT FIXMBR CHKDSK /R not be an option for him at the start?

Recall I had this exact problem and it was "caused" by a repair install with three subsequent repairs never working and only a reinstall working.

Those are the options I would try from the Recovery Console if it were a Microsoft XP CD.

Although the MESH CD appears to follow the same format it is still a MESH CD (OEM).

As I saw no mention at the MESH site for using the Recovery Console I added the option as an after thought but it might be worth trying.

If you have the time to answer:

How did you determine the death?

How did you retrieve the data?

Three hard drives failed on you!?!?!?

Who is the manufacturer? Did they honor their warranty?
