    Reconnecting to Broadband

I have three computers connected to the internet seperately via an Netgear ADSL Router. Two are Mesh and use Windows XP the other is an old Dan and uses Windows ME. The IP Provder is BT.
I also used this system as a Home Network and could see the other computers from each one.
However the latest Mesh, that I have had for eleven months, had the XP files badly corrupted by some software, and the only answer was to use the Mesh recovery disc. I rang them and they helped me through reinstalling Windows XP.
However I cannot now get onto the internet with this computer. Nor can the other computers see it on the networking system, which I think may be the problem. When I first got it all I did was connect the Ethernet cable and it immediately automatically set it up without any problem but now it will not. The information is going into the computer as I can see the light flashing on the rear of the tower where the cable is connected and the light, for this computer, is lit on the router.
I have tried all the usual things in Windows setting up procedure and it does Show "1394 Connected, Firewalled 1394 Net Adaptor" but say there is no connection to the internet.
I tried the repair but a notice came up saying "Windows could Not Complete Repair Problem because the following action cannot be completed Failed to Query TCP/IP settings of the connection, cannot proceed.'
I also checked the 'Support Network Connection Details' and these are blank. Showing No IP Address, No Subnet Mask and No Default Gateway.
How can I solve this problem?
I need to get onto the Internet quickly to register the OS as it say there are only 29 days left to do so.
I am an OAP so any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Peter Clarke

Have you installed the drivers for your Lan port on the computer? Sometimes the drivers are on a seperate disk and are not always installed on a system recovery system. They have to be installed seperately and then the network woill be picked up.
