Network Folder

Network Folder
I recently purchased a laptop, and am looking to move old music files from my old PC to my new laptop. I created a network folder with all my music in it but I can't find the folder afterwards. I am on a wireless connection, but the original computer and the laptop are both on a wireless network feeding off a third main computer in my house. If any1 could tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if you have any alternate suggestions that don't involve burning huge numbers of cd's, it would would be greatly appreciated.

If its a network folder you will only see it when the network is on. You need to copy the contents of the folder to your own music folder.

The network is on, but the problem is I don't know where to find the folder on my laptop once I create the network folder on my old PC. I don't have an address for the new folder, so I can't figure out where the folder is once I create it.

If you know the name of some of the music click start/search and type it in. If its on the computer somewhere, search will find it.
If you mean you can't find the folder's location over the network you would have to go to 'My Network Places/entire network/microsoft windows network/ms home and then browse the other computer. Make sure the folder is set to share on the other computer or you wont see it on the list.

There's another way, but you have to be sure that your network folder is shared,
you can download from this link http://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner/ the netscan utiliti, and click on autodetect ip range and start scanning, you must see all the computers in the local network and folders.
