I have a file stuck on my computer, kill it please.
Alright, I tried posting this once before but I don't believe it was posted.
One day I downloaded an MP3 file and ever since then the file that I downloaded it into has been stuck on my hard drive. My hard drive is rather slow and I need all the space I can get and I would like to have this file deleted because it has about 15% of my hard drive full of stuff I don't need. I have tried everything under the sun short of reformatting to remove the file and I cant do that because of some problems I'm having with my disk drive. If I try to move my mouse over the file to view the contents the explorer.exe process closes and restarts itself. If I try to delete the file just by right clicking and trying to delete it, it does the same as when i try to veiw the contents. I have even went through the trouble of creating a new account and deleting the account with the file on it, but that just causes the control panel to close and bring up an error message. (which I don't remember what it says) If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to D-A-L
have you tried deleting in safe mode, or a system restore to before you downloaded the file?
what anti virus are you using?
if all fails
Please follow the instructions Here and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware section. (Not here please). with a brief explanation of what the symptoms are

Alright, I tried deleting it in safe mode and it gave me this message "Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and proceeds to close. I also tried using the Move on Boot program and it closed when I tried to enter the files to be deleted. The antivirus program that I'm running is Kasperysky Antivirus and I've scanned my computer with it, Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware SE. Spybot ran and cleaned out my spyware with no problems, I didn't notice anything I hadn't gotten rid of before, but Kaspersky showed problems with some of the system restore files that I had made after the file had... become retarded, and with Ad-Aware... well every time it comes to the file that I'm attempting to get rid of it becomes unresponsive and I can only press the "cancel" button and when I do it stops and doesn't show any errors, and while it is scanning for problems it says that there are errors. So now what should I do?

Here is another app to try for deletion:

If this does not work then as brain_damage mentioned:
As a first response you might want to post a HijackThis log for review by our Pros in that section:
Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.
(Not in this section please).
Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

Alright, thanks. They haven't gotten around to solving my problem yet but I'm sure that some one will. The other program you suggested didn't solve my problem either though, it just came up with this error: "An instruction at 0x001C0002 tried to dereference and/or read from virtual address 0x7C9105DC.
The current operation has been canceled. The application must now close. Any unsaved changes will be lost.

I did as the message said and sent an e-mail to customer service. Thanks for the help and sorry for all the trouble.
