i have reformated my emachines 270 and have no drivers for the audio and what ever driver i need to make my monitor run at more than 16 colours and 640 by 480

Whats your motherboard manufacturer and model?

You need to know its exact spec to be able to download the drivers for your chip (AMD or Intel) and the Northbridge/Southbridge chipset, the sound, the display and any graphics etc from the website, if they are not on your computer.

It will be on the manufacturers website, where you can choose your motherboard and it'll show you the latest drivers you need.

Firstly, if you go into Device Manager: Start Menu =>Run => type devmgmt.msc => Ok it'll show you your devices.

If you click on the the display and sound labels it'll expand. See whats under them and click right to check properties to see if any drivers are installed. The new window will mention all this info fully.

If you haven't got any installed, click on "update driver" or "install driver", whichever is present

Wait to see if the system wizard find the specific drivers and see if that resolves the issue first.

had exactly the same problem with a PC i was asked to fix, after searching on the processor i found that the eMachines 270 seams to be able to work with the drivers for the model T1742 from the emachines website
