Unhappy Audio via 97 Not working!

Re-Installed windows; loaded all the drivers from Via Chipset cd. Audio driver is displayed as installed, but fails to deliver in win-media, or realplayer? An error message is displayed that the audio failed to respond, or is being used by another application, on checking no application is found running who requires sound.

I tried reinstalling the windows as an upgrade but nothing happened, where I went wrong? please help me with the remedy?

Re-installing XP has a nasty habit of wiping audio drivers.

The best general solution is to re-load your computer's audio drivers.

The best place to find these drivers is the computer manufacturer's web site.

Look for Downloads/Drivers/Audio for your exact computer model.

If your computer was custom built then the motherboard manufacturer is the best source.

If you need help in searching for the download please let us know and supply the exact make and model of the computer or motherboard.

We need to know the make and model of the computer.

And or the make and model of the motherboard.

Windows '98 drivers will not work for XP.

You can try this scan: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

The computer should be under System Model or if it was custom built the motherboard will be under Main Circuit Board
