    Hi brit31

I'm having a few problems myself and this is similar to one I encountered earlier.

Are you using a NIC plugged in the PCI slots on your motherboard to provide the ethernet port?

    Ok, go to Start menu>run>devmgmt.msc

Do you see Network adapters in the list and if so what if you open the plus to expand it?

It seems like a adapter/driver issue.

If something appears under the Network Adapters heading check to see (right-click) if its enabled (if its disabled the enabled option will be listed and vice versa).
Also if there, go to properties to check if this network adapter you have is working propely. Or if a driver is installed. If so, you may still need to update your driver based on your motherboard make, model.

If nothing appears in the main list or it appears in the yellow question mark area in Device Manager, you will have to find the appropriate driver for your ethernet adapter.

    Best wishes
