My computer heatsink fan has been acting really funny recently!....i turn on my computer and the fan is full blasting...then it settles. Once it is turned on and all set up i just sit down and after about 5 mins the fan just starts full blasting again....and stops. Sometimes when is happens for no reason it is enough for me just to kick it lightly and it stops!
This is really bugging me and i dont know what to do!

how old is the fan, is it covered in dust, is the PC overheating?

the heatsink connector might be loose, if you keep on kicking it, it will become more loose. You don't want to abuse your computer or it will abuse you back.....yea, anyways, see if there is (like da' brain said) check your connection from the fan to the motherboard. if it's dusty clean it out with a can of compressed air, do not blow into it, as spittle may get on the connection and just might fry it. but yea, kicking never solved anything, escpecially when a wittle bitty computer has no feelings, lol
