If this message posts twice, please excuse; I had some login trouble.

I have two computers that used to be able to see each other's "shared docs" folders on a wired (ethernet) network. After moving, re-setting each machine up in the same config, and a new cable modem, the comps can not see each other's shared folders anymore.

The setup is as follows:

Two computers, each with an Ethernet cable plugged into a Belkin router, which is itself plugged into a RCA cable modem (Comcast).

The only networking capability I have had and needed in the past is that each computer (this one, called "extracomp", and my 'good' one, called "main") can see, drag/drop, and copy files and folders into each other's Shared Doc's folders at My Network Places. Network is called 'Wallace-home'.

Currently, from this one, (extracomp), in 'my network places', I can only see "shared docs on extracomp(Wallace-home). on 'main', also, in 'my network places', I can only see 'shared docs on main(Wallace-home).

No NIC cards- I haven't needed them, for some reason, and don't want to go get them. Just want to be able to exchange some files, which worked fine before.

Previously, in 'my network places' on each computer, the shared docs folders on both 'main' and 'extracomp' were visible.

Network setup wizard doesn't like how i have it set up (both connect to the internet through a router), but it allows progress past that step, only to then tell me that the network can't be set up through the wizard, that it will need to be set up manually.

Honestly, I can't remember what I did initially to get the *&(**(& thing working!

I'm (obviously) not a network person. Any assistance appreciated!
