    Ulead 7

I have recently installed Ulead 7 on my HP XP system after having trouble with my old 98 system on wich it refused to work. Ulead apparently now do not support this version so please can you help. I have installed via the CD the driver etc , But, when I connect the video camera , the CD came with it, the following is displayed " Either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is conected" Hope this makes sense, as you can see I am relatively new to this computer world. Hi,

    Welcome to D-A-L!

I have quite a bit of experience with this software. Can you tell me how you have connected the camera to the PC? It should be via Firewire.

You need to connect via Firewire, does your camcorder have DV out?

Hi , My camcorder only has a USB and a TV connection as far as I can see. The connection to the TV works fine. Ian

    Hi Ian,
Firstly, I have previously used Ulead Video Studio versions 7, 8 and 9 on my Windows 98SE system with no problems, so I don't think it's a s/w problem.
Secondly, try plugging your camcorder into a USB2 port without loading Video Studio.
Windows should recognise it as a camera or disc drive. If Windows doesn't "see" it, then there is no way Ulead or anything else can connect to it.
If Windows does see it, then load Video Studio, go to the capture step and lokk in the "pull-down" menu to see if your cam is there.
Do you understand the window I'm talking about?
    See the attached screenshot.
    Regards.
