    I was looking for the manual but they no longer list them for Cordants.

    Were you able to find any Recovery CD's? At this point in time I see no reason to suspect hard drive failure.

    If you have a floppy drive you can try to boot the 6 floppy XP boot disks:

    Make sure you download the specific version for your Operating System e.g. XP Home SP2 or what have you.

    From these disks you should be able to access the XP Recovery Console:

    There are many options here. First I would try chkdsk /r

    If that doesn't fix things try FIXBOOT

    Im afraid i couldnt find a certificate of authenticity tho it does have a little windows sticker on the front. I need to get some blank discs before i can do this right? Im on it, thanks so far guys. I'll be back when ive got the discs....
