please help
hi all.i plugged a every day mic into my pc to have some fun with the kids, changing the pitch and tempo of there voices.there voices wernt coming through very loud so i adjusted the mic levels.then out of the blue the mic just stopped working and the mouse pointer got a mind of is own and would only go up and down with a fight, most of the time it just wanted to float to the top of the screen.i had to go out and get a mouse that plugs into the usb and that works fine.in the evening i tryed to listen to some music but it comes through all poppy and crackley and cuts in and out.i turned the volume settings down and bass but it does the same when quiet.please help, what have i done..

Try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:
start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

hi,it would not restore..
-
I mucked mine up real good just like this one time doing the same thing...
Should just have to uninstall the audio drivers and then re-install them..

hi,thanks for the replys.have re-instaled the drivers but still no better.is it poossible that i have damaged the sound card, would a new external sound card solve the problem.thanks for all of your support thus far..

I really dont think your PC is damaged. Its just a passive mic correct? I personally like this audio driver for doing that stuff...
Asio for all...
