cannot delete inbox in outlook express, any ideas to suit novice ability?

how do you mean delete the inbox, do you want to delete all the messages in the inbox?

if so open O/E go to inbox highlight messages to be deleted the press delete, all the messages will be sent to deleted items

Thanks for that brain-damage, sorry but what I meant to say was that,I cannot delete messages in inbox by highlighting and pressing delete, They just stay put! This fault occurred just after receiving e-mails from a new contact at YAHOO, could there be a connection? Any help much appreciated!

One thing you can do (with OE closed) is start Search > All files and folders

Also click Advanced options and check both Show hidden as well as System files

Type: .dbx

These are your OE files. You can delete any of them (such as Inbox) and it will be recreated next time you open OE.

Warning: This will DELETE your entire Inbox!

If you have mail you wish to SAVE move it first!

Then as said the next time you open OE you will have a new Empty inbox.
