    File Extension Problem

So i changed my application associated with sfv files but ended up not liking that app so i changed it back to what i was using but the problem is now that the extension on all my sfv files now is showing at the end even with 'hide extensions for known file types' ticked.

I've tried unticking that box and then ticking it again still no luck, have tried re-associating the files with the app i use and also tried rebooting aswell without any luck either.

it just seems like my pc's not recognizing the .sfv file extension for some reason, can anyone help please? thanks

ive actually just been fiddling about with stuff and just found out that the problem is as simple as.

went into tools >> folder options >> file types, clicked on sfv files and then there's an 'advanced' button, clicked on that and theres an option there 'always show extension for this type of file'. i dunno how it got ticked in the first place cause it never used to show the extension but oh well it sorted now so thanks fot the help jephree anyway
