    Re: Computer Restarts spontaneously

Hy all. PLS HELP. i have a huge problem....i say huge couse i really dont know what to do anymore. Some days ago ireinstaled my windows (XP)....it worked fine i guess. After that i cleaed my computer, internally (and i know how its done....dont think now i was playing inside with a stick.. )..but when i started the computer after that, i havethis problem. Whenever i enter windows the computer restarts or even shuts down. I thought first that the probem is from the source...but i put a new one and the same, is restarts/shuts down when it enters windows.then i tried to change that cable that enters the source. i tried also to put the hard on other computers but doesntwork so i supose its from the hard...i dont know.....So i tried to reinstal the windows but when i try that in the middle of the loading stage...at the beginning....it also restarts. I really dont know what to do anymore....PLS HELP.....i really dont want to lose my data from this hard.... again ...PLS HELP ....anyone

    thx....

    Oh jeeze dude.

The "Hard" is called a "Hard Drive" and what is a "stick"?
It is really hard to understand you.

You should post a new thread on it because it doesnt really have to do with anything on the one.

    Thread split ....

What do you mean by the "source"?

Was your hard drive detected in the other computer? It will not be bootable but you should be able to load it as a slave to extract any data assuming that the drive is mechanically sound.

Otherwise I'd suggest stripping the computer down to basics: PSU; CPU; RAM; Graphics Card; Hard Drive.

Re-seat all you cables on all ends.

If this still fails to boot try Safe Mode:

Try booting into Safe Mode options:

After the power-on and BIOS POST or your Logo screen repeatedly tap the F8 key or hold the Ctrl key before Windows starts.

When you put this hard drive as a slave in another computer is it detected?

Can you see and browse it? Are the jumpers correct?

Hard drive manufacturer's have floppy boot diagnostics available on their web sites if you want to run such.

This could of been done because of u cleaning ur harddrive, are u aware of how a short circiut works on a comptuer because that causes it to restart
