    xp language

    hi
My computer is setup with XP in Spanish. I have now bought an English copy. Do I have to format my computer or can I load it over the top to change the language? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

it may be easier to use the XP CD to format the drive then install XP, that way you should remove any spanish.

Thanks. I take it that means i will lose everything. I canīt do a recovery disc because the computer doesnīt recognise the drives. It has labelled both the cd and dvd as E:/. I only bought this a couple of weeks ago and hate it. Compaq arnīt very forthcoming with help either. Thank goodness you are there

have you contacted HP in spain? http://h40039.www4.hp.com/wtyext/set...WsQ!-875736585 they may know a way to save the data.
