    internet access for guest account

I am normally the only user of my pc. Now we are expecting a visitor who wishes to use the pc for checking emails (webmail) and internet access.

I have enabled the guest account and although the shortcut to my isp appears on the guest account desktop, nothing happens. Right clicking on the icon and selecting properties / target shows an empty window for Network Connections.

    Can anybody help ??

The Guest Account is extremely limited. It cannot initiate an Internet connection although it can use an open connection. In other words you (the Administrator) need to logon and establish the Internet connection then the Guest (using Fast User Switching) should be able to use your established connection.

A better solution (in my opinion of course) is to create a new Account (Limited) for the visitor. You have much more control here as to what can and cannot be done (permissions).
