It aslo seems like its been gettign worse and worse. ive tryed the control panel and unclicked the automatic reboot in recovery settings. But nothing happened. So far now my computer has been rebooting alot now. somtimes even 10 mintues after it had rebooted! if anyone can help me it would make my life easier.

I think that we've been thru this issue before. Is it the same computer? The same problems?

Without taking the time to look back at other threads I would suggest that if you have reinstalled XP via a Clean Install and the issue continues it is most certainly a hardware problem.

Test the RAM. Test the Hard drive. Monitor the temperatures. Remove peripheral devices.

Basically strip the computer down to the basics and if it runs OK try adding back the pieces removed piece by piece.

    Hi,
while doing the test with the 'strip' try also with a new ide/sata cable for you disk.
The most 'bare' config is to have only the needed to start your system. CPU, Memory,VGA.
    cheers:
