okay.. my first problem is that whenever i log on... it begins to log on...then automatically logs off...

so i installed another copy of XP so i could burn my files out before formatting...but the problem is i can't access the files on my desktop because the profile is password protected... so it won't let me open that profile from my second OS installation... is there any way i can disable the password on that account so that i can regain access to the desktop files? i need to burn out the files on my desktop but can't gain access to them..

You just need to change the permissions as noted in the Microsoft bulletin.
