Exclamation Dual OS Trouble (XP) on one drive

I have no idea whether this is the right place to put this.

I am currently running on Nimble X (Linux) off of a CD, this was the first site i
    found that could possibly help.

Long winded explanation: my main hard drive has two partitions with an OS on either partition. Both OSes were Windows XP. I had two because one got screwed up. Anyways, i was running out of room on my second (stable) installed version of XP, so I decided to reformat and reinstall xp on the original partitioned space. (So I could have more room as well as having an extra OS in case viruses, etc. got on the clean one) Before doing so, my PC would start up asking me which XP i wanted to run. Now it does not. I cannot access the internet on the freshly installed xp because I would need a network driver, but i cant download it without having access, which would allow easier forum browsing, etc to find a solution.

So I am here asking this: does anyone know how to select which OS i want to run on startup. I know the old XP is still there, i saw it on the fresh one. My PC is not detecting the old one for some reason, and i do not know how to do it manually.

Please, someone respond with an answer soon, i have work to finish on the old XP.

    Check the settings here:

    start Run... msconfig | Boot.ini

    Or:

Right click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced

Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Startup > edit

Thanks. I went into the ms config boot.ini and only saw one OS, which was on partition one. (The one I was on) The second XP is on partition three (two I recall was about 100 megs and i don´t know why its there.). I can´t say i know how to use these things you have provided me, but from messing around with them (typing in the location of the old copy of xp, changing default startup file) I must say I NEED HELP STILL. Every time i type in the location of the old XP into the boot.ini, save it, and restart, the same windows version pops up. If anyone know how to force it to detect/and or start the old version please reply with a detailed walkthrough. Again, I am not an expert here.
