    Harddrive Problems

    I recently accidently installed 2 operating systems (Linux and Windows XP Proffesional). I deleted the partition with linux on so now my laptop is intalled with windows Xp Pro. However my 40gig harddrive is showing up as a 15gb in "my computer" and saying i only have 4gbs of free space left. I have hilighted all the files in my computer including the hidden ones and there total size is only 10gb. Does anyone know a solution?

    Although you deleted the Linux partition this will not allow you to expand C: using XP.

    Under Disk Management you should be able to format that 2nd partition and use it.

    Disk Management = Right click My Computer then click Manage then Disk Management.

    You should see a section labeled Unallocated space. This is the partition you deleted. Right click Unallocated space and choose format and this will reactivate a new (blank) partition.

    If your desire is to expand C: you will need either partitioning software or you will need to reinstall XP.
