can't connect to internet
We installed a new computer and it won't connect to the internet. We DID call our ISP and they said it wasn't their problem, talked to the modem "people" and went through diagnostics on the phone and it's not the modem problem. We have dial-up and the phone company says the problem is not in their lines. While on the phone with the modem people, going through some diagnostic test, the prompt did appear saying, "no carrier". Sure would appreciate any help available! Thanks!

has the line worked on any other PC before the new one?
are you using a extention lead from the phone socket to the PC?
