Hi there

I am having a problem with my PC. My screen wont show anything other than 640 x 480 and i can only get 16bit colour. I decided to check my device manager to see if everything was ok ther and i have a bunch of yellow question marks with a small exclaimation mark on it, these are next to......

Hewlett-packardpsc 1200 series (im guessing thats my printer)
multimedia audio controller
PSC series
PSC series (dont know why thats on there twice)
SM Bus controller (this sounds important!!!)
Video controller (VGA compatible)

Im guessing these are all missingdrivers so i was told to download the Belard Advisor but that says that it cant find any multimedia or printers etc. so i dont know the manufactuerer of my sound card or anything. Also these things keep popping up asking me to download urgent patchs, is that anything to do with the SM Bus controller, come to think of it, what is the SM Bus controller? is it bad that there is a question mark next to that?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Well the computer is my girlfriends. it was riddled with malware and was totally full of crap, dodgey programs and games her bro downloaded so i decided to do a format install of XP and thats when the problem occured, after formatting the HD and re-installing XP, that help?
