    Freeze on ShutDown

Whenever i shutdown my PC it freezes on the 'Shutting Down' blue screen. So when i turn it off via the power button and turn it back on the monitor, keyboard and microphone dont start up but the PC starts up. The only time i get my PC to work is if i change monitors, i really don't know how to sort this so i don't have to keep changing monitors and stopping the freeze whilst on the shutdown screen.

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Are you using on-board VGA or a graphics card?

Are you saying that you have to physically change monitors?

If so the next time you can change back to the other?

In other words you can keep switching the same two monitors?

What if you just unplug and replug the same monitor? Is there a reset button on the monitor?
