    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

have you got a manual for the board, what make and model is the board?

if you have a look on the board you may see some small writing that shows where each wire goes

where did you get the board from?

the board should have some writing on it somewhere to identify it

    It's a Microstar motherboard socket A
have you got the processor and heatsink?

have a look around the edges for a block with about 8 pins coming out

I'm trying to find a manual at the moment, can your Friend give you any idea of what went where as I take it he removed it from the original PC

I've found a diagram of the board, it was done for Packard Bell so microstar wont support it

I think the connections may be JFP1 the original maybe had a block connection, but they should still have writing on the them
