Hi,

My CD drive does not refresh when a new CD or DVD is put in. Nor does it Autoplay.
It used to do both these things, but it has recently stopped working.

If you open the CD Drive, the files are the correct ones, but the volume name just stays as the name of the volume that was in the CD drive when the computer was first booted.

This is a very annoying problem, can you help?

you could try

Enabling AutoPlay on a data and audio CD (Windows XP)

Open My Computer or Explorer
Highlight the CD-ROM drive, right click the CD-ROM drive and click properties.
Click the AutoPlay tab. Within this section you will be able to specify all Windows AutoPlay features.

Yeah, I probably should have said that I have already tried this. Didn't work, everything is already set to 'prompt'

Anyway, I think when AutoPlay is disabled, the volume label should still update, which makes this even more weird...
