    Exclamation Windwos XP Ram Help!

Every 5-10 minutes or so, my computer requests me to try and free up some space.
This is entirely impossible, because I'm only using MSN Messenger. When I DO run the Disk Cleaner Option, usually about 5mb or 10mb mysteriously goes missing. It's extremely annoying.
Can anyone advise me as to what to do?

What is the verbatim error message?

When you run Disk Cleanup what is the indication that 5mb or 10mb mysteriously goes missing?

How much free space is on your hard drive?

    Check: Start/Run/ diskmgmt.msc

How much RAM do you have?

    Also:

    Check your Page File Size:

Right click My Computer then click Properties

    Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Virtual memory > Change

Is this set to System Manage Size? If not set it so.

Well last night I checked it and there as 186MB left in C: Harddrive. I did absoultely nothing and it was 300MB when I checked it a few hours later!
I know when 5-10 MB disappears when I get the Low Disk Space warning bubble and when I clear all the folders/files, the amount of disk space is significantly different from the last time I checked it, having been about 10/15 minutes ago.

What is the size of your hard drive?

If only 1.8 - 3.0 GB are free you might be just seeing the Page File differential.

Did you check your Page File?

I would suggest a larger hard drive and or partition. If only 1.8 - 3.0 GB are free this could be very restrictive to XP.

How much RAM do you have?

XP uses disk space (page file) as additional RAM.
