trouble with plug-ins/playing video
75% of the times that I try to watch videos, I get a white box with a green puzzle piece that says click here for plug-ins or something like that. When I click it, it goes to a window where it supposedly searches for available plugins and finds none. Also, I have copied supplied HTML code for use on my website and get the same result - instead of a regular music video player, I get the white box! And it's not 1 particular site, it's many and most of them!
I don't understand what is going on - once it referred to the Shockwave Player and another time to Windows Media Player - I supposedly have both already installed! I have even checked their websites for the most current versions!
So, what could be the problem? - is anyone familiar with this? I have other "things" going on with my PC (I will be reformatting sometime in the coming weeks-once I have my necessary disks assembled), so it could be related - so that's why I'm checking with you experts first.
Thank you for your help!

Sounds like you are using Firefox?
What happens when you use IE on the same sites?

Hi Jephree - actually, my Internet Explorer has been so unreliable for so long that I have been using Netscape. It's definitely NOT as good, but at least it performs as it should. (My system has been fried for a while now - waiting on $ and I will buy the Windows installation disks so I can reformat and hopefully be able to utilize the recovery disks that I received from my mfg for my particular PC - that's a whole 'nother issue!)
So, shall I give IE a try at this task to see? (I probably will while I await a response from you!)
Thanks so much - my PC has been nothing but a source of learning how to troubleshoot since I bought it in late December! And, yes, the mfg sent me a box to send them my tower in, but I haven't as yet because I will be without it for 7-14 days and I have 4 websites to run - haven't figured out what to do about that!)
