    Angry Norton updates problem

I have been trying to sort out a problem with Norton Updates by using Norton's Live support but after aboout 2-3mins I get cut off. They say it's my PC settings can't tell me what exactly. I have activeX installed. Can you help?

My problem with updates is this..

Well here's the email I sent to Norton...which has not been replied to as yet.

    Thanks,

    Jon

Please email me because I normally get cut off from online support in seconds
We will only have one minute to sort this out.....I have no idea why but I have been disconnected from you guys over 20 times in the last 8 hrs!

    Here is my problem.

The Subscription Service renewal date shows the expiration date as 12/30/1899.

I have tried to follow instructions for RENEWAL CENTER but it's not possible.....It does not exist!

Instructions from the site says the following....
Forcing your Norton 2005 product to synchronize with Symantec servers

1 Start your Norton 2005 program.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 In the upper right-hand corner of the product window, click Help & Support > Renewal Center.

    NOT POSSIBLE

    The instructions say......
    3. In Help & support the drop-down menu, click Renewal Centre
.........BUT I can not do this because there is no "Renewal Centre option in the drop down menu"
    It does not exist!

I did not see that you ran thru the steps in the link I posted although the link apparantly does not stay active after a certain amount of time. For the full link page plus additional shortcuts type: Subscription renewal date appears as 12/30/1899 into the serch box here under Solve it myself:
