    Compaq Armada e500

    Hello, I am (aliased) Jon-Leon.
And I am trying to format my compaq armada because Windows XP, as it Boots up after the XP Loading Logo, Gets a Blue Screen of Death, and restarts automaticly.

Now I have -a- windows XP Home SP1 OS Disk, but the Compaq -refuses- to boot from disk, any disk, even my linux boot disks.

How would I come about to resolving the Boot Disk Problem?

You need to enter the BIOS Setup ans set the Boot Menu to boot the CD drive prior to the hard drive.

On the Compaq Logo screen when you power on look for the Setup hot key. Most computers use the Delete key but some HP/Compaq use F2 or some F10.

Anyway pressing the proper key at the Logo screen should get you into the BIOS Setup where you can go to the Boot tab and set the Boot order.

Oh I was WAY ahead of you on that one, I have it set for CD First, Floppy Second, Network Third and HD Last.
(I used to use network before i formatted the host computer)
    Will not boot from disk.

Are you sure that the CD drive is working?

You could try the floppy boot disks as seen here:

How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks

Make sure to use the XP Home SP1 version.

Also the F10 at boot might take you to a Compaq Recovery section (not sure about that model).

Hrm, that would require a floppy disk drive i take it, and I dont have any working floppy drives, EXCEPT for the one on the laptop.
