    Can't Boot From XP CD

Hey, This is my first post, ive been having problems so somebody recommended posting my problems on a forum like this. Not sure how this stuff happens lol. Or wheter any of you can help me,

    Right so heres my problem.
A while ago i found out that the computer i have doesn't have a Genuine copy of Windows. So i went out and spent £200 on a New XP OS. I wanted to perform a clean install but i couldn't boot from the disk. And when i finally did, i went to format the c: drive and it said i couldnt as temporary files for the setup were on it. I Tried doing this through the windows setup and using the recovery tool. Some one suggested to me that i use the Fdisk tool from a 98 Boot disk. So i tried that, And began to format the c: drive. Waited for it to get to a 100% and it wouldn't let me create a parition.
Now i can't do anything at all!
I can't boot with the XP CD, 98 disc, or the 6 XP Disks. It says
    "Invalid System disk"
"Replace the disk and then press any key"
    "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: Failure"

I really don't have a clue what i should do! I rang a few computer specialists but they said they wouldn't come out because i live so far away from anything! lol

Thanks in advance for any replies
    Cheers
    Matt
