please can anyone tell me how i can remove files that still appear in the add/remove list. in my list of programs there are several applications that refuse to budge. these are long gone files but their name still appears in my list. by the way i am running win xp he. any help would be most appreciated.

start > run > regedit > Local Machine > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Uninstall

try that path ... if you are not familiar with editing the registry, back it up before you touch it, the common disclaimers etc.

but anyway this has worked for me many times ... if you see your unwanted programs listed there: delete them there.
