Sorry about the double post; took a while to figure out this system. Well, I guess my guardian angle took pity on me yesterday morning because after several more frustrating attempts @ getting the keyboard to work it finally accepted the caps lock & then one by one I typed in the password letters by holding down each key for about 5 seconds, which let me in to disable the password. I then ran the Panda anti-virus software that my buddy had on his computer which found & removed 10 infected files.
All in all it was a good learning expereince because my buddy had never registered the software so he was not using its full potiential. Had it not been on his computer all would have been lost. He finished the registration on both his computers & now the Panda software is fully operational.
This software has been rated more effective than Norton or McAfee, so I highly recommend it for everyone.
Now when I return home to Asheville, NC I will purchase & install Panda on my laptop because I will be getting Internet service this week sometime. Thanx for your suggestions. Now that I know this service is here I will check from time to time to be able to help others. My background is in computers so I might be able to offer some helpful suggestions.
I started with the first Apple computer over 20 years ago & most of my experience comes form the DOS days. Now I'm mostly familar with NT 4.0 because of work & still need to update my knowledge of XP & it's quirks.
Until the next time......(:>)![]()
