    Unhappy KEYBOARD & PASSWORD CRISIS

I was surfing on a friend's desktop computer last night which uses Windows XP. I somehow thought I was locking a subdirectory from access, but the next morning when I went to turn it back on it prompted the administrator account for a password. That's not the kicker! The keyboard is not being recognized upon bootup! He'll be home from work in few hours & know I !@#$%^ it up!
He's always warning me about tweaking things. Now I have really messed up his computer. Any ideas from the techno-brains out there?

May sound silly, but have u checked if the keyboard is plugged in properly? Are there any other administrative accounts active that don't have a password? If u do, go through that way and try looking at your Device Manager. Check driver updates etc.

Done the keyboard check. After serious consideration I have determined that it's probably a virus that came from one of my personal e-mails & disabled the keyboard. Last night Windows Explorer prompted me to password a folder, which I thought is a new XP feature. Turns out it was prompting me for an administrative login password, do not understand how it did it from Windows Explorer. Anyhow the main account is now locked out & the keyboard is not recognized, so I will have to pay a local tech guy $75/hr to drive here & boot off of floppy, then repair the system. I will definitely be on my friend's $#!+ list for a long time. It's his desktop I messed up! Thanx.. (:<)

Is the keyboard usb or ps2? If it's usb try a ps2 keyboard, windows may not be loading the drivers for the usb keyboard untill after login.
