    Computer Problems

Hi! My computer has issues that i cannot figure out how to deal with. the other night i turned off my computer and went to bed. After a few moments of trying to sleep i heard a repetitive powering on and off whooosh noise coming from the computer and investigated. The green light around the cpu power button was flashing on and off and turning on the monitor, found that it was going back and forth from black to gray. holding the power button did nothing and i eventually turned the comp off by unplugging it from the outlet. since then, the computer will not turn on and the only thing that brings about a response is unplugging and plugging back in the power cord in the back of the computer, which turns the green light on for about a minute or so, during which time the computer sounds like it's loading up but there's no display on the monitor. eventually this goes away. pressing on the power button does nothing. can you help please?

Are you familiar with working inside computers?

I would suspect the Power Supply Unit (PSU). You can get an inexpensive tester to test this and or just replace it.

If the computer is under warranty, of course, I would return it to the warranter.

If you have no interest or desire in working inside the case then I recommend a local shop or technician with a good reputation.
