Uhhhh!!!!
someone help.....it seems that my system32 folder has dissapeared, no it's not hiddin, and doing a search brings up no results, any answers would be greatful.

no one knows anything on this matter?
-
Has it disappeared in the sense that XP is not working correctly or are you just not finding it listed in Explorer?
If the former:
If you have a Microsoft XP CD I would recommend a Repair Install:

If you have OEM XP disks you need to check with the manufacturer for Recover options: most likely a Non-destructive reinstall which is similar to the Microsoft Repair.

No I don't have an XP disk, and all that comes up in any system 32 folder is something called mllm.exeand that's it. i don't even have the second partition anymore which had the recovery disk on it, and bein a compaq, i don't have any support at all, i could buy a new xp disk, but that's gonna cost money i don't have, anything at all would be helpful on this.

What are the problems with the computer? Why do you have the need to locate the System32 folder?
If you are having specific problems with XP operating you might (possibly) be able to access the Recovery Console using the 6 floppy boot disks. Otherwise you would need an Operating System CD.

the main reason is because there are viruses trojans. etc etc etc......that are supposably there, and doing a virus scan shows nothing, usually i can see the folder but it's like it was eaten by a worm, i don't really know, i'm not stupid when it comes to computers, but this seems to surpass my knowledge, 6 floopy disks????, is that from microsoft, or is it something that should be in my computer package?

The boot disks are from Microsoft at the link I posted. Match your specific version e.g. Home SP2 etc.

These disks should boot you up to the Recovery Console.
