I have just recently setup a new network for internet and file sharing purposes only. I need information on how to use a printer over a network.

I have my dads computer as server (Permanent Internet Connection) with the printer connected to this computer by USB cable.

I need to be able to print items using the same printer.

I have run add printer but windows cannot pick up the printer on browse for printers and even if i type in the printers name to search for it cannot find it.

How can i fix this problem?

I shared mine by doing this. On the computer that has your printer hooked up too (this is assuming if you are running Windows XP) I am using Windows XP Home Edition click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Click on Printers and Faxes find your printer right click on it click on properites click on sharing then click on Share this printer let me know if it helps or not
