    No Visuals When Playing Dvd/films

    I recently tried to connect my laptop to my tv using a s-video cable. My tv is pretty old so it didnt really work. I have now abondoned trying to watch films thru my laptop2tv. Wheni tried to watch a movie on my laptop i could hear the sound from the movie but could not see anything. i tried watching other films using different codec but same thing happening. no pic all the sound!.I dont know what i have done in the settings or otherwise but have tried the obvious and still no picture. computer says everything is fine but i am concerned as i dont have a scooby what is wrong and what to do. I have a presario 900 and xp.

    Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? What DVD playing software are you using?

    hi mate. nice to meet ya. its a bit late here in the uk, in sunny scotland but i hope you can help me solve my problemwith my lack of visual playback. how do i find out what my computer uses for playback?

    Were you ever able to watch DVD's on this computer?

    XP does not have the ability to read or write DVD's; therefore third party software is necessary.

    You might look in All Programs for anything saying DVD. Perhaps Nero or Ulead etc.

    Another try is to search from start > search and type DVD and see if any applications come up.
